Working Title - Must Edit For Clout

The idX Wordsmiths

Christmas List? Nah, the only things we write in this world are the style of skiing and snowboarding and thinking about going hard in the caption.

After visiting many mid art galleries here in Salt Lake City and Park City, I noticed two things: the outrageous price for most of the sub-par splatters of paint and the title of the artwork. It really gets you thinking about the motive behind piece, and then when you understand it, wondering what Deer Valley mommy is going to drop their AMEX to hang it up in their 6th bathroom.

Regardless, this brought to our attention that there is an elite story that's presented behind every rider and clip on idX. Let's get after it and talk 'bout it.

‍
"First"

‍As Lil Wayne once said on the Nine Club while smoking a blunt, he has seen a lot of beautiful things in his life, but there is no better thing than landing a trick on those four wheels when skating. A greater truth has never been spoken, so lets look the first tricks stomped on idX - in no particular order. πŸ—£οΈ

‍

Starting with simontheskiboi, we at idX went crazy with the Switch Rodeo 5 stomped first try. We also hope to someday have the ability to go from 9 to 12 like misfit_skier...in one day.

Keeping up with the first tries, blendbuster2 never lets the idX community down, especially with a 5 Safety at Copper, or dave_can_do_it with the first Flat 3 of the season.

On the rails, we have conordavis stomping a 270 On and gaffer showing park crew obstacles are no match if you have a transfer in the bag.

Finally, going to countries that don't speak English (they speak only French in Canada right?), no person has ever been more cracked out on a 200ft vertical hill than full_mast with the first try Flat 5 and Swedish legend ogit with a 720.

As I got on my knees and prayed to Ullr for snow to come in Utah Monday night, I ended it with "Will the real slim shady stand up? Amen".Well, we didn't get snow, but what idX got was rail assassin, Killington legend, and elite #grabyourcorks, skier, tag and caption aficionado shady.

There might be no better caption on a first upload than "don't sleep on dis app" while launching a Switch Tails 2 On Pretzel 4 Out, and then following that with a Layz Sundā edit. Words might tell part of the story, but don't forget the Front 8 out or the Hike Drills edit that was on display at Killington. Massive respect and props. The bag of tricks and gallery of edits is a must see.

Stanced Up Comedians

With an app that displays heroes 24/7, there is no better way to stand out than being a joker. See what I did in the title there!

Speaking of a title, an elite play was claiming a 900 that went a little undercooked from yvng.brady as Godly Afterbang. Thank you and we definitely see big things coming out of Sunshine Village this year.

Another send that had the idX crowd asking ourselves "why so serious?" was n8's Pain from Jackson Hole. The thunder/sublette chairs do hit different.

Elite comedians aside, thelifty definitely thought he on to something on idX with "The Hangover" after proclaiming that he did something after the his friend stopped filming. At least the steezepolice showed him what's up with the C- Effort.

When the thelifty and steezepolice team up to create certified jokers on idX

Anyways...bake_groot got the Dave Chapelle Netflix Deal with the iconic coach phrase, "if you don't rodeo 5, you aren't eating tonight". I'm pretty sure this is what the entire US Men's Ski Halfpipe team says to themselves because this was on display at the Copper Grand Prix today.

Finally even more massive air than these guys is Connor. #XSKillas and Parkasaurus Legend recognizes that Park Crew might hate him by not hitting the rail and going off the lip.

Sometimes, it's not a first or you're not on 810 mile, but landing a trick, serving up a line of savagery in front of the chair, or making an edit means something.

Whether it's describing it with emojis like novybbg did with this Z Tube Disaster (I had to look up what reacting with a shrimp emoji means on urban dictionary after this), having the legend Andy Parry film official_no_poles, calling your style a Backflip 3000 from brettploss, or just having a chill time like Skian had with this Chiller Line and gaffer did with this with this Chill Cork 10

Example of Chill

Calling your style is an unmatched tradition and we thank you for writing the style and creating a museum for your craft on idX.

Sometimes its best to let the art of the filmer and the technicality and style of the rider to speak straight facts into the idX Cinematic Universe. No one did that better than zac.sureman, highlighted by this mute grab to switch on this rail, jamison.tidwell with this Zero Spin Scremin' Semen, or drew.flores with the idX T.O.T.Y. Switch Misty 9 Mute!

Congrats Drew!

idX Devology

We just dropped a new video card layout.

Pro tip. If you want to watch a video in .5 speed, expand the video to full screen and click the three dots to adjust the playback speed.

We know autoplay and things loading needs to be faster, but in the meantime, our devs have been drinking diet coke, staying up until 7am, and listing to SFUR Radio building out a game changer. Lets hope thelifty's fridge stays stocked and that the Bisk update drops this Wednesday
